With the economy wobbling around, it's no surprise people (including myself) are looking for ways to "trim the fat" on the monthly bottom line. Re-thinking your night cream is no exception. But what use is saving money on night creams if they don't work?
There is a fine line between too-cheap-to-work, and so-expensive-you're-being-scammed. You need to be sure that money saved isn't money wasted. Here's a sure-fire way to wallet and night cream nirvana.
Know What You're Paying For
If you look closely at most advertising and marketing for night creams, you'll see a lot of "Pro-Awesome: a patented scientific breakthrough" or "New-Fangled-Name: a new miracle-worker in...".
Interesting enough, you can never find on their website (or on the product itself), what is actually inside the "Pro-Awesome" ingredient. The label just says "Pro-Awesome Ingredient" .5%. How does this help you? It's as if they patent a group of ingredients just so they don't' have to tell you what's inside!
If you can't find thorough information on the things they are sticking inside each night cream, buyer beware! Before I buy a night cream, I spend time looking around to find out what's inside it. Why should I shell over 40 bucks for the same ingredients as Aveeno's $4.99 hand moisturizer?
How Low Can You Go with Night Cream?
Here's my rule for shopping for night cream: If it's under $30 for 1.7 oz, I'm suspicious. Since I'm using a night cream in the first place, I want something that contains special ingredients just for night creams. Otherwise I'd use a standard lotion.
And those ingredients, as I've found, aren't cheap enough for companies to be able to sell their 1.7 oz products for pennies. So, unless you've got a sale price, don't count on spending less than $30 for a decent night cream.
The Sky is NOT the Limit
On the other side of the scale, I won't pay over $40. Unless there is only 1 lotus flower available for making 10 jars of a "miracle night cream", it's simply not unique enough for me to shell over more than that. Companies asking for more are hoping their med-jargon and flowery description will woo me into an impulse buy.
In fact, I was once tempted to hand over over $100 for a 1.7 ounce jar of night cream on a very high-end line of skin care products. But as I tried to discover what was inside, I found the company was as tight-lipped as my daughter staring at a plate of broccoli.
No information means no sale. Period. I don't put stuff on my face without knowing what it is (or isn't).
The Price is Right
So where's the happy medium? In my opinion, you should be able to purchase a good night cream for between $30 and $40.
When I purchase my night cream (at around $38 regular price) I know that I'm purchasing valuable ingredients because I can read about them in the product description. But I also know, through the description, that I'm not paying for liquid gold. (Plus, I can make that 1.7 ounces last a pretty darn long time!)
In summary, if you're re-thinking your budget for cosmetics and skin care, take a hard look at your night cream. It's possible you're making "donations" for sub-par products.
First, before placing your next night cream order, take some time to read through the ingredients list. . If you see only a list of "Miracle Patented Ingredients" (without detailed info on what is in that miracle), take that as a "Just Trust Us" and move on.
Second, use the "Goldilocks" solution in purchasing your night cream. Not too hot, not too cold, but just right. In other words, look for night creams that are not too cheap (less than $30), not too expensive (more than $40), but just wallet-right.
I've gone through that vetting process. I've used those same tests. Feel free to peek over my virtual shoulder and read about my searching-experience for a decent (yet inexpensive) night cream at my website linked below.

QUESTION:
Does Radialabs An Excellent Aging-Skin Enhancer?
Redialabs is the really most anti aging cream with cranberry oil and essential vitamins give excellent moisturizing effect to your skin.
http://www.healthproductreviewers.com/radialabs-instant-wrinkle-reducer-reviews.html-
ANSWER:
No.
Number reason why people get wrinkled is because they soak in water too long then they dry themselves up by laying out in the sun.Think of your body like that of grapes. They become raisins. You can 'freeze' the aging skin, but preventing both of those two. Once they turn into raisins, no amount of 'magic' can plump those raisins back into grapes.
The beauty industry will say anything, will add anything, but reality folks, no amount of magic can plump those skins back to youthful baby soft skin. The only one getting richer, are the beauty industries.
Many anti-aging are not approved by the FDA, it's trendy right now because people are desperate. What's done to their skin, is too late and you can't reverse aging. It's a billion dollar business. You can try soaking them with serum, or whale sperm, or water or juice, but it's never the same as before. Skin is the same thing . . . that's why people go for the faster route. They travel to Brazil to get a cheap surgery, but they come back to Beverly Hills to get them corrected.
The function of the FDA is to monitor new drugs, such as anti aging products, entering into the marketplace and ensure that they are safe and effective. Unfortunately, many anti aging skin care products as well as other anti aging products use wild and exaggerated claims in their marketing materials. According to the FDA, a big controversy with some of the advertising are claims that anti aging products will rejuvenate or repair or restructure the skin. These types of claims lead to speculation that the product is causing structural changes to the skin. If this is true, these products should be classified as drugs and should be removed from the market until the FDA has approved them. Conversely, if these claims are not true, the companies should stop claiming these features for their products. In the past, the FDA has sent regulatory letters to the cosmetic companies making these types of claims informing them that they may be in violation of federal laws.
The anti aging product market is one of the biggest markets in the United States. Each year consumers spend billions of dollars on unproven anti aging products in an attempt to slow down the aging process. The FDA as well as others consider this a danger because taking an unproven and untested product could very easily cause near or long term damage to someone.
While there are dozens of high-end brands, experts say many low-cost brands are just as effective. Moreover, many cosmetic firms are owned by the same parent company, so the exclusive label that makes high-end brands may be affiliated with the maker of more downscale products. For example, L'Oreal owns Maybelline, Lancome and Biotherm; Estee Lauder owns Clinique, Prescriptives and Origins; Almay is owned by Revlon. Experts say there's little need to spend three or four times more for a department-store moisturizer unless you particularly like its feel or scent.
However, under the current laws, the FDA is limited in its ability to oversee and enforce the claims made for anti aging products by manufacturers . The FDA is also limited by funding and political concerns in its ability to independently conduct the large studies that are sometimes necessary to test the claims made regarding these products. So, more than ever before it's up to the consumer to do his or her own investigation regarding any anti aging claims made for products that they may be interested in taking.A perfect example is Botox, or botulinum toxin A. The FDA approved a Botox product that would temporarily improve the appearance of frown lines. Yet, many feel that this was an ill advised move. The fact that it is a toxin that in large doses can be fatal and if used excessively may even harm nerves. With so many Americans enamored of using products to make them look more beautiful or younger we can expect hundreds more anti aging products to hit the shelves in the coming years. And there is simply no way that the FDA will be able to adequately test them all.
So even though an FDA approved product does not necessarily mean that an anti-aging product is safe or that it works as advertised, the FDA sign of approval is a point in its favor.

Chapter One CHANGE
“We’re here Miss,” the taxi driver announced as the taxi screeched to a halt. I really didn’t want to leave the warm interior of the car but I handed over the tip and thanked the driver. Georgina my sister pulled the collars of her leather jacket closer and got out. I followed and strolled over to the boot of the car. I heard the ‘thump,’ as the taxi driver opened the boot. “It’s nice and warm in there ain’t it Sir? Wouldn’t mind giving us a hand?” Georgina muttered as she raised the boot and grabbed the suitcases. As we unloaded the suitcases and set them on the footpath, we slammed down the boot and the taxi screeched off. Georgina and I stood there taking in our surroundings. This was our new neighbourhood and directly in front of us was our new home. “Ready?” Georgina asked me. I nodded but didn’t speak. We dragged our suitcases to the gate. Georgina kicked it with her boot and it swung open. We trailed to the front door and knocked. The front of the house was neat and tidy; roses were neatly trimmed and planted in front of the windows. The curtains were shut; I assume noone would want any rain streaming through them anyway. The weather was what ruined this whole ‘homely reunion,’ the clouds were grey and not a sign of sky blue showed. It didn’t look like it was about to ease up soon. Georgina knocked again just as lighting flashed and thunder followed. I jumped under the shade and Georgina rolled her eyes. “Audrina, puh-lease. It’s just thunder.” I knocked on the front door hardly this time. It opened and my dad’s kind, friendly face peeped out. “Hi Dad,” Georgina chirruped and she smiled as she dragged her suitcases, swung the door open wide and walked in. So typical Georgina. So straight and forward. “Hello Dad, nice to see you again-” I stepped in and stopped mid sentence. Dad didn’t look like the dad he was the last four years I’d seen him. He looked…younger and weirdly good looking for a guy in his forties. I stared at him, (very rude I know,) open mouthed and gawking. Georgina I could see was gawking too and blinking profusely. “Dad,” I said finding my voice. “You look…different.” Georgina nodded her head and cleared her throat. “Very different.” She agreed. Dad smiled but stuttered a bit. I could sense he was nervous. I bet he should be, what father looks more beautiful than his teenage daughter? He had not a wrinkle in his face. “Then my anti-age creams are working.” A voice said from the hallway door leading to the supposedly kitchen. My stepmother Deidre had her arms crossed in front of her chest in a friendly way. She-like my father was beautiful. She had silky brown blonde hair that was curled and accentuated her face features. She had crinkly hazel eyes; I gazed into them steadily looking for any sort of malice in them. No, not a sign. “A-anti-creams?” Georgina stuttered. Dad smiled stiffly (from my point of view) and distracted himself with the carrying of our suitcases. “Welcome ladies.” Deidre smiled warmly as she took an overnight bag from my arms and walked through the hallway door. Georgina nervously followed dragging her suitcase and trying not to rattle on the hallway tiles. I followed, carrying my case and entered the dining room. “Sorry girls, we were just loading up on the groceries.” Deidre smiled an apologetic smile. The dining table was packed with grocery bags and juice bottles. The kitchen bench had several coke bottles and other beverages. It was as if they’d bought the whole supermarket. “It looks like you haven’t been using the kitchen before,” Georgina said, her voice a bit muffled. I glanced her way and saw her head in the fridge. “Georgina,” I hissed. She was just so rude and interfering. “Uh, well the fridge is new.” Deidre smiled nervously as she packed away the food packages. Georgina shut the fridge door and looked around. I imitated her. Shockingly the kitchen appliances looked very brand new. It was as if they had bought them yesterday. The fridge door was gleaming and reflecting Georgina through it. The microwave was demanding its own audience. “So,” my father returned from upstairs. “How you liking LeecheTown so far?” he asked as he headed over to Deidre to help her unload. Georgina scoffed. “So is this what this town’s called? I saw the sign, thought it was some joke.” Georgina scoffed yet again as she pulled down a dining chair and sat down. I gave her a look and started unloading the groceries out of the plastic bags myself. “No actually, I’m afraid our town is LeecheTown,” Dad chuckled and Diedre smiled. “You

QUESTION:
Has anyone tried the Made from Earth - Vitamin Face Moisturizer?
I have read good reviews about it - however, I want to make sure its the best anti-aging cream before spending dollars on it. If you have tried it - please let me know (its at www.madefromearth.com) what it did for you and how you used it and if you would recommend it for a 'young' lady in her 40's looking for an anti-aging organic face moisturzier.Thank you.
-
ANSWER:
This has been my daily moisturizer for the last year. It makes my skin very soft, very healthy looking, and fresh. I have given it as a gift to my sister and she loves it. No adverse reactions. You can notice a difference after just one use. When I've run out and used something else temporarily, I always can see the difference again once I start back up. It is as close as it gets to a miracle cream.I do not wear makeup, so the Made from Earth Vitamin Moisturizer is it. I am 49 years old and I think my skin looks incredible. The friends I have given it to also like to keep a natural look and prefer their skin without heavy creams, thick moisturizers and sunscreens, or makeup.
The women I know who are fans of Made from Earth like me. We're kind of lazy no-fuss "one cream that does it all" people; instead of one jar of something for one thing, and another for something else---eye creams, night time moisturizers, daytime moisturizers, etc.---we're the type that wants just one that can do the job and then be done with it. In other words, we don't have the patience to fuss with our looks a lot, or to spend money buying bunches of different creams to keep track of and remember to use.
It seems expensive, but it is not because it lasts a long, long time. The two-ounce jar lasts me about six months. I use a the Green Tea toxin cleanser and then the Vitamin Moisturizer and that's it. I'm done with my face in 30 seconds. Plus, it gives me a look that most women use makeup to get, so I think it's a bargain.

QUESTION:
Best eye cream for 18 yr old?
I'm looking for a standard sort of eye cream that is anti-aging. Something you can buy from the drug store, nothing too terribly fancy. Most of the eye creams that I've read reviews on from MakeUpAlley are all anti-wrinkle, helps dark circles, etc. etc. They're specifically formulated to fix certain problems. I don't have any of those problems around my eyes (yet) and so I'm really just looking for something to add to my skin care routine that would prevent or lessen the effects of those problems.
Hope that makes sense. Thanks for your help!Oh p.s. I've tried only one eye cream, it was like L'oreal Genesis Preventive whatever. It was awful; irritated my eyes and made my eyelids shrink.
I normally don't have that sensitive of skin though, just as a reference.-

Can anyone recommend a good, beneficial one?
The ones I am considering are Etude House Magic Cream, Dr Jart, Hanskin Premium, and Skinfood Aloe. Have you tried these?I am pale: about NC15-20, and my skin is quite dry in places. I need one with about medium coverage. If it has whitening, SPF and anti-aging properties, that would also be great!
Thank you.-

I've heard Dr. Jart was one of the best BB creams, even though it is a little more expensive. For you I've recommend Skin79 Super+ in Gold "Caviar" (not sure of the exact name). It blends in to any skin tone, it's for dry skin... plus it has whitening/SPF/and anti-aging (although I'm sure it isn't that accurate).

QUESTION:
Deep creases/darkness under eyes?
Hi everyone,I am a full time working 24 year old young lady. I work early mornings (7am-3pm) and I wake up daily at 5AM. In one year after finishing university and working full time, I noticed much stress has accumulated in my life. The stress of new responsibilities, working my you know what off, constant back pain, a new health issue have really added to my appearance and overall feel as a person.
I've noticed deep creases accumulating under my eyes within the past 6-8 months. At my age, it's embarrassing to have these deep creases. It makes me look a lot older than I really am and it makes me feel horrible.
To reduce the appearance of the deep crease and darkness under my eyes, I bought a highly rated eye wrinkle cream by La Roche Posay called Active C Eyes which was recommended for people with sensitive eye areas, which is what I have. I read a lot of reviews on the product and could not find ONE negative review. I also asked the beautician at one of the drug stores and this is what she recommended for my eye. To this day I am still trying this eye care product, but with 0% improvement. This is really not an exaggeration, it's reality. The only thing I've found this product to be is very moisturizing and non irritating. Other than that, I see no improvement in my under eye appearance so this makes me think that this is an eye moisturizer, not an anti aging eye product.
I don't know what to do. I want to use a product that will work for my sensitive under eye skin area and something that will work. I don't expect miracles over night, but I do expect improvement in time. I don't mind spending a little more as long as I know the product will work.
Anyone have similar problems and if so, what works? Any products? Please help!! Thanks

oh and another ickle question, Ive also heard rave reviews about the trilogy rose hip oil and wondering if thats a good bet for my age group or not too lol?
thanks in advance! x

QUESTION:
Have you ever tried Euoko skin care products?
I am turning 20 year old this month, and sadly I don't have a daily skin care regimen, in spite of having acne-prone, combination skin. I am really intrigued by Euoko, a Canadian luxury anti-aging skincare line due to the ingredients used and their reputation, however I haven't been able to find that many reviews from actual people who tested out, or regularly use these creams.. when I did they were mostly related to their whitening line, and I'm only interested in their products for radiance, protection and blemishes( R, P, A). Since they are so pricey, I would love to hear some real testimonials before rushing off to buy..Thank you very, VERY much for all answers in advance

QUESTION:
I want to have a good skin, free of wrinkles and bags...I only use Olay and Neutrogena..?
Since I've ben 15-ish I've been using Neutrogena and Olay for my skin.. (cleanser-toner-moisturiser) and I use moisturizers and their anti-wrinkle creams with an SPF 20 and above....I'm 20 now...and I still have no wrinkles or bags...and I've my parents age my mother who's Cameroonian and Father a Congolese from RDC and they barely have bags or wrinkles and their skin regimen is quite simple...
I'd like to know...(my skin is very clear, has a nice glow..no spots) seeing that I Neutrogena and Olay work very well for me and that my parents in their 40's and 50's have skin that is fantastic...do you think I could continue to use my skin regimen, eat well, use spf and hope that I'll inherit their good genes of awesome skin??I have recently ordered Meaningless Beauty by Cindy Crawford.. thinkin' I need upscale skin products only to hear HORRIBLE and ATROCIOUS reviews on the product....so I'm canceling my order...
I just don't know if I should upgrade my products for more expensive ones...Any help or advice???

ANSWER:
Why not ask your parents for tips. Olay and Neutrogena are very reputable Brands. When it comes to skin less is more the less chemicals and the more simple ingredients you use on your skin the better. I would keep up the good skin care routine you already have And ask your mom for a few tips.

QUESTION:
Korean BB cream? Can anyone recommend a really good one?
I've heard a lot of great reviews on Korean 'Blemish Balm' cream, and I'd really like to try one.
Can anyone recommend a good, beneficial type?
The ones I am considering are Etude House Magic Cream, Dr Jart, Hanskin Premium, and Skinfood Aloe. Have you tried these?I am pale: about NC15-20, and my skin is quite dry in places. I need one with about medium coverage. If it has whitening, SPF and anti-aging properties, that would also be great!
Thank you.-
ANSWER:
I recommend the Missha BB Cream. It's cheap for a 30ml bottle but it works wonders! Has a slight scent, think Johnson&Johnson baby products, but not for long. It's spf is amazing! 42 +++! I've never seen that before. This is who I buy it from. She's great!
